The TOCKET Family Tree

Notes for Jacob Andrew Moser

Hello everyone,
Its a boy!! Jacob Andrew Moser was born on Friday April 25th at 1:06pm.
He was 7lbs 12.9 oz and 19 inches long. Many of you know I was scheduled to be induced on Friday morning at 7:30am, however on Thursday night around 12:00 midnight Jacob decided he wasnt waiting any more!! I was in labor for 13 (long) hours. Finally after a lot of hard work we had our baby. It was the best moment Ive ever had, and to see the look on our faces must have been priceless. Ive never seen Matt look so happy as he was at that moment.
Friday night and Saturday seemed to fly by, but then on Saturday night Jacob start having some trouble with his breathing and his heart rate. The nurses put him on a heart monitor and found his HR to be at 65 bpm (normal is around 120 bpm). He was also facing some dehydration, which we were able to correct within a few hours. Needless to say Saturday night in the hospital was really stressfulalong with Sunday. We had originally been set to be discharged on Sunday but the doctors felt we need to stay another night and be released on Monday. Because they werent sure about his heart and breathing we were sent to Dubois Hospital on Tuesday to see a Pediatric Cardiologist. The hospital was a 2- hour drive from hour house, which proved to be difficult. At the hospital the did various tests (EKG, MRI, ect and found his heart was working beautifully) They sent us home with a 24 hour heart halter which will monitor his hearts every beat and then will be downloaded into a computer and analyzed.
Now we have him on a portable heart/breathing monitor, which we may have to have for a couple of months. Alarms (that sound like a fire alarm) ring when it doesnt detect a normal breath within a certain amount of time.
This is really fun to hear at 3:30 in the morning, of course were awake anyway J. We had a doctors appt yesterday, which told us that his Jaundice is almost gone (yeah!). Finally today is the firstday with no visit to the
hospital. I am going to try to get a nap in soon! Tomorrow we are back at
the Drs office for a normal routine check-up. We will find out how long he will need to be on the portable monitor then. I guess we are getting pretty used to it, of course we have nothing to compare it too, so in a way it is good.
Otherwise we are enjoying him to the fullest and consider ourselves the luckiest people on earth. He is so cute! He also cant wait to meet everyone soon! I will send some pictures in another e-mail, so you can see our cutie.
Well it has been a long and tiring week. I am struggling to keep my eyes open at this very moment. As you can guess it has taken me all day just to write this e-mail! Babies are a lot of work! Matt and I are doing just fine, and we are learning a lot. Hope to get out of the house and see you all soon!
Love,
Matt, Danielle, and Jacob Moser
