Notes for Johann Philip Klinger
Johann Philip Klinger Sr. (RW) was born on 11 July 1723 in Pfaffen-Beerfurth, Odenwald, Hessen-Darmstadt, Germany. He was the son ofJohannes Wilhelm Klinger and Agatha Heist. Johann Philip Klinger Sr. (RW) was baptized on 17 July 1723 in Pfaffen-Beerfurth, Starkenburg, Odenwald, Hessen-Darmstadt, Germany. He married Anna Elizabeth Heist, daughter of Alexander Heist and Eva Catharina Treusch, on 22 October 1744 in Reichelsheim, Hessen-Darmstadt, Germany. Johann Philip Klinger Sr. (RW) married Eva Elizabeth Beilstein, daughter ofJohann Jacob Beilstein and Anna Elisabeth Rettich, on 25 May 1754 in Neunkirchen, Starkenburg, Hessen-Darmstadt, Germany, (In Mary Klinger's book, page 26 she cites church records that they were married on this date). He served in Captain Albright Deibler's Company, 4th Battalion, during the Revolutionary War. He was a member of Sgt. George Eisenpeis' Detachment during the period Feb. 17 - April 20, 1782 guarding Convention prisoners. Johann Philip Klinger Sr. (RW) died on 30 September 1811 in Dauphin Co., PA, at age 88. He was buried after 30 September 1811 in Zion (Klinger's) Lutheran Church Cemetery, Erdman, Dauphin Co., PA, on Row 7/Stone #11.
